1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide and improve our task management services:
Account Information
- Email address and password (encrypted with bcrypt) when you create an account
- Display name and avatar preferences you choose to set
- Device identifiers for anonymous/device-only accounts
Task and Productivity Data
- Tasks, subtasks, lanes, timing preferences, and completion history
- Streak counts, points earned, achievements unlocked, and focus session statistics
- Team member information, delegated tasks, and collaboration notes (if using Team mode)
Voice and Audio Data
Microphone Access: When you use voice capture, we access your device microphone to record audio. This audio is immediately sent to our transcription service and is NOT stored on our servers after processing.
- Audio recordings are processed in real-time for transcription
- Audio files are deleted immediately after transcription completes
- Only the resulting text transcript is retained
- Daily voice usage is tracked (seconds used) but recordings are not stored
Push Notification Data
- Push tokens: If you enable notifications, we store your device push token to send reminders
- Notification preferences and scheduling settings
- You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings
Subscription Information
- Subscription status: Current plan, trial dates, and billing status
- Payments: All payments are processed securely through Apple's App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
- We do NOT store: Credit card numbers, CVV, or payment details (handled securely by Apple/Google)
Device and Usage Information
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- App usage patterns and feature interactions (anonymized)
- Crash reports and error logs (without personal data)
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to:
- Provide the task management and productivity features of the app
- Process voice recordings into text for quick task capture
- Extract actionable tasks from your voice transcripts using AI
- Sync your data across devices when you sign in
- Send notifications you've opted into (reminders, focus mode alerts)
- Process subscription payments and manage your billing
- Calculate and display your progress statistics (streaks, levels, achievements)
- Enable team collaboration features if you use Team mode
- Improve app performance and fix technical issues
- Respond to your support requests
3. Third-Party Services and Data Processing

4. Data Storage and Security
We take security seriously:
- All passwords are encrypted using industry-standard bcrypt hashing
- Authentication uses secure JWT tokens with 7-day expiry
- All API routes require authentication and verify user identity
- Rate limiting protects against brute-force attacks
- Data is transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Our database is hosted on secure, enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure
- API request logs are sanitized to remove personally identifiable information
- Access to user data is restricted to essential personnel only
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may only be shared:
- With team members you explicitly invite in Team mode
- With the third-party service providers listed above (for app functionality only)
- When required by law or valid legal process
- To protect the safety of users or the public
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have control over your data:
- Microphone Access: You can revoke microphone permission in your device settings at any time
- Push Notifications: You can disable notifications in your device settings or app preferences
- Access: Request a copy of your data at any time
- Correction: Update your profile and task information within the app
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (Profile > Delete Account)
- Subscription: Cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Google Play settings
- Export: Request an export of your task data

8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days
- Voice recordings are never stored (deleted immediately after transcription)
- Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics
- Backup copies are purged according to our backup rotation schedule (maximum 90 days)
- Apple/Google may retain transaction records per their legal requirements
9. Children's Privacy
I GET IT DONE is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
10. International Users
Our servers are located in the United States. If you access the app from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
